My life experiences and professional activities have shaped my interests, achievements, and aspirations in significant ways.

First, I am an internationalist.  I appreciate that advances in science, technology, and the human condition often emerge from collaboration between experts around the world.  I earned my baccalaureate and masters’ degrees in applied mathematics and complete a PhD in Statistics and Operations Research. Recognizing the United States as a leader in scientific research, I was honored to have been awarded a post-doctoral research grant from the University of Georgia followed by appointment as a research scientist at the University of Florida. I am now settled as a tenure-track professor at a New York State University.

Second, I am a woman working in the traditionally male-dominated fields of mathematics, computer science, business analytics, and artificial intelligence. Recognizing that fact has increased by resolve to (1) demonstrate my own abilities and (2) take proactive steps to assure that more women have opportunities to achieve in my fields of research.

Third, I am particularly eager to focus my research and to apply my computational skills in artificial intelligence and machine learning to solving problems in the field of management.
